Description
The elite of Napoleon's Army, the First Regiment of Foot Grenadiers were known to friend and enemy alike as the Old Guard and protested the Emperor with utter devotion. They were all picked men, over 5ft 6in. tall and over 25 years of age. As crack troops, they were usually kept in reserve by the Emperor to be sent in to strike the decisive blow. This new large scale kit is of a soldier of the Guard in the full dress uniform of the 1815 Waterloo period. In a life-like pose, this model is further enhanced when painted. – Taken from the 14th edition catalogue (1977)
