Description
A passenger airliner designed to fly at twice the speed of sound (Mach 2.05), first flown in 1969, Concorde service commenced in 1976 and continued for 27 years. It regularly flew from London Heathrow (BA) to New York JFK and Washington Dulles. It set many records, including circumnavigating the world in the time of 31 hours and 27 minutes 49 seconds flight, on 16 August 1995. She had an average cruise speed of Mach2.02 (about2,140km/h) with a maximum cruise altitude of 60,000 feet (18,300 metres).
