Description

These two twin-engined fighters, the piston engined Mosquito and the jet powered Me.262 were among the fastest of all World War II aircraft. The Mosquito appeared early in the war and played a vital role in defeating the Luftwaffe, but development of the Me.262 was delayed, largely by personal intervention of Hitler, and when it finally reached large scale service it was already too late to influence the course of hostilities. – Taken from the 5th edition catalogue (1967)
